How it works

Attacking. Both sides roll one die per stacked die. Attacker needs a higher total; ties go to the defender. Win and all but one die move in. Lose and your stack drops to 1.
Reinforcements. At the end of your turn you get one die per territory in your largest connected group. Dice that don't fit are stored (up to 40).
Winning. Take every territory on the map. There is no points race. If things look hopeless, the Resign button under End turn ends the game.
Gold. Gold pays for the shop, Airlift and Loaded Dice. You earn it for a capture (10 + 3 per defending die + 10 per upgrade on the land), for holding off an attack (2 per attacking die), at the end of your turn (1 per territory, plus 8 per Gold Mine), and for knocking a player out (40).
Gold arrives at the end of your turn. What you earn while attacking shows as pending (+green) and becomes yours when you end the turn, so you can only spend what you had when the turn began. Gold for holding off attacks on other players' turns arrives right away.
One of each power-up per round. Each shop item is a card. Once you buy it (on any territory), that card is played until your next turn, when it reloads.
Loaded Dice. Once per game, pay 100 gold to make your next attack roll all 6s. It wins against any stack your size or smaller, but a bigger stack can still beat it.
Spoils of war. Knock a player out and you take all the gold they had left, on top of the 40 gold bonus.
Headquarters. Before round 1, everyone picks one territory as their HQ. Whoever holds an HQ gets +1 die on it at the end of each turn. Capture someone else's HQ for 50 gold and its die from then on. The flag keeps its founder's color, so you can see whose HQ was taken.
Airlift. A shop card (35 gold) that flies dice from one of your stacks to any other stack of yours, however far away. It doesn't end your attacks.
Blitz. When you capture a territory, dice from your storage rush in to fill the new stack, so a player with reserves can keep pushing the same turn. This is what stops a late-game war from trading one border back and forth forever.
Regroup. Once per turn, move dice from one of your stacks into a touching stack of yours. At least 1 die stays behind, and the stack you move into can't go over its limit. Regrouping ends your attacks for that turn, so do it last. Opponents regroup too.
Lakes and tails. Lakes in the middle force you to go around. A tail is a chain of small territories off the coast: each one borders only the land before and after it, so it is easy to hold and hard to break into.
Bot personalities. Off by default (Standard Play): every bot plays the same way. Turn them on and each bot plays its own style, tested over thousands of games to stay within about 1.5% of a fair share of wins. About 1 game in 5 a bot plays plain, so nobody is fully predictable.
Power-up colors. Red dots are attack (Sharpshooters, Airlift), green are defense (Fort, Tower), and gold are economy and growth (Gold Mine, Barracks, Rally).
Upgrades stay with the land. Capture an enemy fort and it becomes your fort, so upgraded territory is a prize.
